Do I need dental insurance?
No, you do not need dental insurance to see us, and 50% of our patients do not use dental insurance at our practices.
-
Do you accept Medicaid for adults?
At this time, Normandy Lake Dentistry does not accept adult Medicaid plans. The closest office currently accepting adult Medicaid is in Gainesville, which is over an hour away.
Many patients with this plan choose to enroll in our adult savings plan as a convenient and affordable alternative. Our savings plan offers significant discounts on preventive and restorative care, making it easier for patients to maintain their oral health without traditional insurance coverage. Our team is always happy to walk you through the details and help you determine if the plan is a good fit for your needs.
-
Does your dental office treat children?
Yes, we offer pediatric dental services. We provide refreshments for kids as they wait for their appointment, TVs to entertain them during the visit, and extended hours to make it easier to arrange an appointment that works with school and other activities.
-
What is the starting age for pediatric patients?
Children can begin visiting the dentist as soon as their first teeth appear. It is never too early to start building comfort and positive experiences with dental care.
Early visits allow us to monitor oral development, provide guidance for parents, and help children become familiar with the dental environment. Establishing healthy habits early is one of the best ways to support lifelong oral health.
-
Do you offer sedation for children?
Yes, we offer nitrous oxide sedation for all pediatric treatments, which is a safe and effective way to keep your child relaxed and comfortable during their visit.
-
How early should I get to my appointment?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to complete any necessary paperwork and get your insurance on file.
-
What type of financial support or payment plans do you offer?
We offer an in-house dental savings club that covers biannual preventative services and provides discounts for other services for one low monthly cost.
We also partner with Cherry, CareCredit®, and Sunbit for financing. You can design a payment plan that works for your budget.
-
How often do I need a dental checkup?
We recommend scheduling a dental checkup every six months to help catch potential oral health issues earlier.
-
Why can’t a new patient schedule a cleaning right away?
Your first visit with us is designed to be a comprehensive evaluation of your overall oral health. During this appointment, we complete a full exam, review your dental and medical history, and take a complete series of diagnostic X-rays and images. These images allow our doctors to evaluate areas that cannot be seen during a visual exam alone and ensure we have the full picture of your oral health.
Because every patient’s needs are different, the type of cleaning required can vary. Some patients may only need a routine preventive cleaning, while others may require a deeper periodontal cleaning to address gum health concerns. For this reason, we cannot determine the appropriate treatment without first completing a thorough evaluation and diagnosis.
Our goal at Normandy Lake Dentistry is to provide personalized care and the highest standard of treatment, which begins with a complete and accurate assessment of your oral health.
If scheduling allows and a routine preventive cleaning is appropriate, we will absolutely do our best to complete the cleaning during the same visit.
-
Do I need dental X-rays, and are they safe?
Yes. Modern dental X-rays use very low levels of radiation and are considered extremely safe. Digital X-rays use even less radiation than traditional film X-rays. X-rays allow your dentist to see problems that aren’t visible during a regular exam, such as cavities between teeth, bone loss, infections, and issues below the gumline.
-
Do you have specialty providers on staff?
Yes. Normandy Lake Dentistry is proud to offer access to several specialty providers, ensuring our patients receive comprehensive care in one convenient location. Our team includes:
- Periodontist – specializing in gum health and advanced periodontal care
- Oral Surgeon – providing surgical procedures such as extractions and implants
- Orthodontist – specializing in braces and orthodontic treatment
Having specialists available enables us to provide a more seamless, coordinated treatment experience for our patients.
-
Are you open on weekends?
We are closed Saturday and Sunday, but telephone scheduling is available 24/7.
-
Do you offer specialty services such as root canals, implants, or veneers, and can all of my dental needs be handled within your group?
Yes, with several specialists on staff, we can provide a wide range of specialty services—including root canals, dental implants, and veneers—so most of your dental needs can be handled within our group. This allows our patients to receive comprehensive care in one practice, coordinated by a team that works closely together to ensure the best possible outcomes.
-
Do you offer sedation dentistry, and what types are available?
Yes, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral conscious sedation to keep you relaxed and comfortable during your appointment. Our goal is to make every dental experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible, especially for patients who feel nervous about dental care or are undergoing longer procedures. Our team will review your medical history and discuss the best sedation option to ensure your visit is both safe and comfortable.
