Dr. Elizabeth Osmun
The Professional Side
Dr. Elizabeth Osmun, a compassionate and skilled general dentist, was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and History, from the University of Florida. Dr. Osmun furthered her education by completing a Master of Science with a concentration in Anatomy and Pathology at the University of South Florida, where she worked as a teaching assistant. During this time, she taught cadaver dissection to master’s and MD students, honing her communication skills and learning the importance of balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being.
Dr. Osmun pursued her dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her DMD and was recognized on the dean’s list for all four years. She was also awarded the prestigious Dr. James B. Gallagher, Jr. and Dr. Esther M. Wilkins Scholarship, which is given to third-year dental students who demonstrate academic proficiency and achievement.
Dr. Osmun’s areas of focus in dentistry include diagnostics, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. Her practice philosophy is driven by a genuine desire to enhance the well-being and happiness of those around her. She strives to provide thorough, compassionate, and personalized dental care that aligns with her patients’ overall health and dental goals.
Dr. Osmun is an active member of several professional organizations, including:
- The American Dental Association (ADA)
- The Florida Dental Association (FDA)
- The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)
- The American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD)
Dr. Osmun is best known for her cheerful nature, humor, determination, and reliability. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys connecting with people and engaging in hobbies that involve sharing experiences with others. She sings Alto in a local choir, loves going on long walks to explore new areas, and is always on the hunt for unique coffee spots.
Her interest in health and fitness began during dental school when she took up yoga and Pilates to improve posture, but her favorite sport remains rowing. Dr. Osmun also enjoys cooking for her friends and family, sharing her love for food, and creating meaningful memories.
Dr. Osmun has been married to her husband, Ben, since December 2022. They grew up together in Gainesville, and she often spends time with her brother, Andrew, and their parents.
