Dr. Scott Poortinga
The Professional Side
Dr. Poortinga is from Niagara Falls, Canada and moved to Jacksonville in July 2022. He attend undergraduate school at McMaster University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto. It was at the University of Toronto where he also met his wife.
Dr. Poortinga’s mother was a dental assistant and this created an interest in the world of dentistry for him from a young age. One thing that always stuck with him was how the dentist, his mother worked with, was able to bring happiness and confidence to patients by restoring their smiles. Dr. Poortinga is happy that he is able to do that for his patients!
The Personal Side
Dr. Poortinga is passionate about staying active and enjoying the outdoors. Outside of the dental office, you can often find him out on the golf course or at the beach.
His wife and him moved down to Jacksonville in July 2022. Patients can often point out his Canadian accent, especially when he drops an ‘EH’ at the end of a sentence. They both have loved living in Jacksonville and look forward to raising a family in the Sunshine State.
